Event report: Wine & Cheesley

Thursday 27th April saw the first of a number of events being held by Bristol City Supporters Trust (BCST) over the coming months. The Wine & Cheesley evening turned out to be a successful evening full of good conversation, good wine, good cheese and all hosted by ex-City legend Paul Cheesley.

Host Paul Cheesley welcomes guests

Those in attendance were treated to an excellent range of wines to taste courtesy of Paul Cheesley & locally based drinks supplier Matthew Clarke Constellation. A good range of free red and white wines from around the world were made available for guests to sample. There was also the opportunity for people to purchase any of the wines available with part of the proceeds being donated to BCST.

Guests take advantage of the free wine tasting

A local supermarket and Model kindly donated a superb range of cheese for sampling. From mild cheddars to strong organic Herefield, a fine range was tasted & rated by those in attendance.

The evening was also designed for people to meet with the members of BCST who are running for a board position in May's election. It was a great opportunity to discuss the future of BCST & the intentions of those seeking a place on the board. A good mixture of members and non-members used the opportunity to socialise with fans of Bristol City Football Club in a relaxed surrounding. A number of people also took the chance to chat with Paul Cheesley who was more than willing to remeniss about his time at the club.

The night was rounded off with a raffle that offered some great prizes including bottles of wine, a signed BCST polo shirt and a bottle of Brandy.

Caught unaware, we manage to photograph the rare, cheese-eating Humanous Ciderous Drinkerous in its natural environment!

Next BCST event: Poker competition - May 2nd - Three Lions Pub, Bedminster. More info...
