Trust Supports Ashton Gate Plans

Having worked hard to feed fans' views on the new stadium design through to the club and, after a luke warm reception for the initial design of the 'home end', achieving some success - following further fan consultation - in securing changes to that design, our focus has been drawn in recent weeks to the plans for the future development of Ashton Gate.

After attending several meetings with club executives and planners, debating the plans at our open meetings (to which all are welcome) and attending a briefing session at the City Council offices, we got fully behind the club by launching a new website to help gather fan support for the plans. went live on 26th August.  The site features an opening statement from Trust chair Stuart Rogers, setting out the case for supporting the Ashton Gate plans, includes other pages with background information and another showing the many ways in which fans can show their support for the club's proposals.

Running independently alongside this has been an e-petition set up by City fan Rich Lane (interview with Rich here) and the Trust was happy to help promote this in recent days with a mailshot to a select group of fans.  It is gratifying to record that our 'call to arms' has seen a significant increase in 'signatures' added to Rich's petition.
