499 Red Balloons Brighten Up Open Day
Trust defies August weather As in previous years, we turned out again in force to support the football club's open day in August ... but unfortunately the weather did not play along!
Nevertheless, the Trust's bright red balloons added a splash of colour to an otherwise grey day, when rainstorms forced the crowds to spend most of their time under the cover of the Williams Stand rather than strolling around, as last year, in the sun outside the ground. |

Backing Bristol The Supporters Trust joined forces for the day with the 'Back Bristol' World Cup team that is hoping to get the city included as a potential venue for the 2018 tournament in the FA's application to FIFA to stage the finals in this country for the first time since England won the World Cup back in 1966.
More to come Our red balloons on the day sported the 'Back Bristol' logo on one side and the Supporters Trust logo, with the familiar robin and suspension bridge, on the other. Around 500 balloons were given out on the day, with a further 500 left over for use at a forthcoming match... most likely the game at Ashton Gate against Middlesbrough on August 29th. |
Join the Trust Also being handed out at the open day were flyers with information about joining the Trust and a simple form for signing up ... which, of course, you can also do here on this site on our Join the Trust page!
The gas, the gas ... Our thanks to Bristol Gas Supplies for their fast service in providing us with the balloons and helium gas. Thanks Stuart! |
